ROAD TRIPS
The roadtrip used to be a part of hockey culture until the synthetic surface became an associations surface of choice, forcing hockey to be played all weekend to cover the costs. As a result, mens club carnivals took a dive and the social side of hockey has been affected. So, Scott Rainbow decided to do something about it, and the men now go away on an annual roadtrip to compete at a mens hockey carnival. Carnivals are hard to come by, but there are still a few gems around. This page is dedicated to keeping track of where the road trips go, and how the team/s performed.

HISTORY
2008 - HockeyNSW Open State Championships representing Port Stephens Hockey Association -

2007 - Wagga Wagga Packham Cup. The team competed in A division and ended up coming 2nd, so a respectable result. Played matches against teams from Charles Sturt University, Tumut/Gunnadah and Griffith. The carnival had us play 6 games on water, sand and grass. The club had guest appearances from Scott Willcocks and Richard Grohman, and regular members who attended included Justin Rainbow, Scott Rainbow, Ian Clarke, Brad Willcocks, Todd Denholm, Peter Whittey, John Dunn, Chris Garn, Jason Ellem, Greg Towers, Brodie Winner and guest umpire and legend bus driver, Mark Webb. The highlight of this trip was young Brodie and his antics at Romano's nightclub.... cant say anymore because what happens on tour, stays on tour..

2006 - Grafton Kelly Cup. The team entered in A division and finished the day in 4th spot. Played matches vs Barbarians, Sailors, City Bears and Royals. The team had guest appearances by Damien Wheeler and Dean Winner, as well as regular club members Scott Rainbow, Justin Rainbow, Ian Clarke, Peter Whittey, Karl Winner, Brodie Winner, Jason Ellem, John Dunn, Todd Denholm and David Finnerty. The highlight of this trip was the day we were shipping out of town, with a full colour photograph in the local paper of Jason Ellem in full flight vs Barbarians. There were others, but what happens on tour, stays on tour.
