Last nights round of matches saw all 3 teams register victories. U10's now move into finals next week, whilst U13's have a couple more games to go. U10 Cougars continue thier dominance of this competition with a 3-0 win over Cars. The team play was spectacular, with the first 2 goals involving a number of players moving the ball upfield and distributing to thier team mates. Was very pleasing to see. Deklan, Chloe and Natasha scored the goals, but there was great teamwork by Luke, Will and Jaydon throughout the entire match. U10 Wildcats secured a 3-0 win over Maitland Taxis and should secure a top 4 spot as a result. Coach Ellem identified teamwork and distribution of the ball as the key factors in the outcome. The 2 Sophies got special mention, as did Amber and Declan. U13's took on Kookaburras in a crucial game. The team dominated the midfield and were able to pressure thier opponents into making mistakes. Declan Rankin capitalised on these mistakes to score 2 goals. Brendan Fraser, Gabi Barnes and Chelsea Fisher had outstanding games. The result should see the team sneak into the top 4 for the first time this season. |

Our juniors games were washed out. The kiddies get another week off. In seniors, 4th Grade went down 1-0 to Norths. It was agame totally dominated by Port Stephens with the team dissapointed they werent up by a couple come halftime. Poor finishing and a couple of posts meant the game remained 0-0. As is the case, after long periods of Hornets domination, Norths race down field and score a goal to win the game. But it was probably the best 4ths had played all season and the guys can hold thier ehads up knowing they gave it everything. 3rd Grade maintained its lead at the top with a 2-1 victory over Norths. It began badly when norths scored early, but a Baxter PC few minutes later and a Ben Salisbury goal after some brilliant leadup work by Willcocks was enough to clinch the win. This weekend the lads will be off to Grafton for thier annual roadtrip. good luck fellas! |
