ABOUT HOCKEY IN PORT STEPHENS
The Port Stephens Hockey Club was founded in 1985 and joined the Newcastle Mens Hockey Association competition. The mens teams play most of thier matches at the Newcastle International Hockey Centre on 2 waterbased synthetic surfaces.

A junior development program was started at Tomaree in the late 80's. This program has now progressed into a fully fledged junior and senior mixed competition, and affiliation with HockeyNSW. The Port Stephens Hockey Association administers this competition, which now operates at Salamander Bay Sports Complex.

In the western part of Port Stephens, the Raymond Terrace District Hockey Club provides junior hockey for boys and girls in the Maitland Hockey Association competition. Raymond Terrace is a feeder club for the Port Stephens teams in the Newcastle competition.
